Bus Service

The no.150 bus between Aylesbury and Milton Keynes runs hourly in each direction with four bus stops in the village in each direction.

There is also a no.37 bus operating three trips each morning and evening between the village and Leighton Buzzard railway station.

Shops

The Co-op store, including Post Office services, is located on Birds Hill. Additionally there are two hairdressers and a flooring store in the village.

School

St Leonards V.A. Lower School with an outstanding Ofsted has a great reputation. www.stleonards.beds.sch.uk

Church

St Leonards has been the Parish Church since the 19th century although the building, originally a chapel, boasts a 16th century tower. www.saintleonardschurch.com

Rushmere Country Park

Rushmere Country Park, which includes the former Stockgrove Country Park, has its two main entrances in the village. The park is owned by Central Bedfordshire Council and managed by the Greensand Trust and boasts two visitor centres with cafeterias.

There are trails for walking and cycling and much wildlife to be enjoyed, including the heronry. Just over the Brickhill Road from Stockgrove Visitor Centre are Kings Wood and Rammamere Heath, (also managed by the Greensand Trust) which provide a greater diversity of wildlife. www.greensandtrust.org/RushSites.html

Footpaths

There are several sand quarries around the village and the owners have provided footpaths and bridleways around the perimeters which provide habitats for wildflowers and wildlife. Our footpaths are maintained by volunteers organised by People Paths Partnership (P3)

Sports Field and Thrift Road Playing Field

The sports field in Bryants Lane has a Trim Trail around the perimeter, all-weather courts for tennis, five-a-side football and bowls and a pavilion which is used by the Heath and Reach Boxing Club. There is also a football pitch which is used as the home pitch of a local team.

Thrift Road Playing Field provides swings, a roundabout and climbing apparatus for young children and a slide, zipwire and climbing blocks for older children.

Allotments

There are a number of allotments along Linslade Road and on Copt Hill.

Vet

There is a veterinary surgery in the village. There are also boarding kennels. www.heathandreachvets.co.uk

The Barn

The Barn is the community centre for the village and a large number of classes and events are held here. The Barn is bookable for private events.
